They laughed when I started Kiteboarding….but when I started to fly!

I WASN’T READY TO FLY ON A KITEBOARD!

Are you ready to be thrown around, pulled sideways, thrown backwards, dumped upside down and just all out yanked about. Kiteboarding appears amazingly challenging; nevertheless it’s surprisingly not that hard. It does help to know how to surf, windsurfed or know how to sail, but these are not necessary to learning how to kiteboard.

Practice flying a kite, and see how it flies in the sky and experience the movement of your kite. It will take a bit of getting used to. Most beginners start with a twin tip kiteboard, which will permit you to alter your direction without jibing the kite. When you are kiteboarding with confidence, the boards you choose will be determined by your riding style and personnel preference have found that North Kites makes the Bullets board, which is believed to be the most superior production board available.

So what will I need to do to get started? You will at least need a kite, a board, harness bar, flotation device and a helmet should you crash and burn. You don’t need to be concerned about a kite being too large to manage. All of your equipment that you use must be chosen to accommodate your preferences and riding technique. The same applies with your board choice and the harness you choose. Select a board that is the right for you based on your weight and wind conditions where you ride.  Decide on the style of harness that you are most comfortable with. What about lessons? All beginners ought to take lessons before undertaking flying a kite alone. The kites used in kite surfing are high performance sports kites. Kiteboarding lessons will keep you and others safe.
